10/1/96 - This version of the MacUpdate Automation tools (MUDDaemon, MUDContorl) cannot distinguish between a "Shutdown" and a "Restart". Additionally, MacUpdate will be instructed to Synchronize at Shutdown whenever the MUDDaemon application extension is "quit" (if Synchronize at Shutdown option is on). This could occur if an installation program tries to quit all other running applications. Turn off Synchronize at Shutdown if you are using an installer program that tries to quit all running applications. I'll fix this soon.
10/2/96 - The Print command from the File menu will only print the *visible contents* of the front-most window. So if you have a Preview/Comparison Window many pages long, you have to scroll and print, scroll and print. I'll fix this soon.
MacUpdate's Caveats

9/29/96 - MacUpdate has the capability to update from an open Source file to a (non-open) Destination file. For example, you can Synchronize from your System Folder to a backup folder, even though there are items in your System Folder that the OS has open (System, Finder, Preferences, Extensions, Clipboard, etc.). WARNING: Precautions have been taken to prevent the OS from reading from/writing to a file that MacUpdate is updating, but you should still be careful not to change System settings while MacUpdate is updating your System Folder (for example, don't use Control Panels, or change Application Preferences). Similarly, if you are updating some other open file, be sure not to modify the file while MacUpdate is Synchronizing. Also note that if the open Source file is on a Server, MacUpdate may not be able to access the file, unless the file was opened with "shared" permission.
MacUpdate's Bugs

9/23/96 - If you re-name a Pair Item while it is displayed in a Settings File Window, MacUpdate loses track of the Pair Item. You will have to close and re-open the Settings File. Upon re-opening the Settings File, MacUpdate will properly locate the Pair Item, even though it has been re-named.
9/24/96 - If either a Source or Destination Pair Item (*not* the sub-folders of a Pair Item, just the Pair Item itself) meets Criteria, MacUpdate processes like both Pair Items meet Criteria. I need to change this so Pair Item Criteria is only checked for a Source (Note that both Pair Items may be Sources).
9/25/96 - If a custom icon for a folder is updated, it may not appear on the Destination folder until after you re-start the Finder.
10/3/96 - If you eject or put away a disk that has a Pair Item displayed in a Settings File window, MacUpdate will lose track of the icon.
